OUR PASTOR
Ours is a welcoming congregation in which people deepen connections with God and other people through active compassion, mission, and exploration of Scripture. This is a gathering of mortals transformed by the power of Jesus Christ's love and grace. We have attempted to walk humbly with God by worshipping Jesus, serving Jesus, and seeking justice and blessings for the world Jesus has created. Every participant is encouraged to creatively use his or her spiritual gifts. Each (DOC) Christian Church has its own individual personality and at Dudley Christian we cherish each person's unique spiritual journey, free from judgment that we understand Jesus to have said was God's alone to do. Christ welcomed friend and stranger alike in God's name, so we openly welcome people into our midst to grow in Christ through worship, study and a rich life of fellowship and service. Dudley Christian's hospitality is second to none.
In recent years we have been blessed by the Lord with growth, opportunity, and the blessings of God's resources. Through our Community Life Center (CLC), our hope is to find more of the lost sheep of the world and bless them with the healing salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ! God is speaking in today's world in many different and new ways. He especially seeks for us personally, and as members of the church, to be a blessing to people in our community and the world. We hope you will become a part of this mission. From the moment I entered Dudley Christian Church my life has been strengthened by a intense purpose of being blessed by good fellowship, and honored through humble service to community. Come Just As You Are
"Come just as you are" ...is not just a statement... it is a fact. You may dress in your Sunday finest, T-shirt, jeans and sandals, or anywhere in between. You'll find others just like you. We trust you will feel welcomed as we praise and worship God together.
Arrive at 10:30 a.m. for Cookies, Coffee and Conversation. The worship service starts at 11:00 a.m. and is a blend of traditional and contemporary with various styles of music. In the fall and early winter of 2004 plans began to construct a 60’ by 100’ shell metal building with covered drive and glassed entry. In August of 2005 a Ground Breaking Service was held for the $150,000 initial phase and by 2006 the shell metal building was complete. A retired member acted as the general contractor for the $150,000 Phase II portion and subcontracted the work locally. In the fall of 2006, the Community Life Center was dedicated to the mother of this congregation, Mrs. Isabelle Thornton O’Berry.
The CLC features a fully carpeted 60’ by 80’ main room with half court basketball, a large carpeted stage, double glass doors leading in from the glassed entry, and carpeted half walls chosen for décor and sound control. It also includes a state-of-the-art kitchen, two large restrooms with a shower in each, and a large storage area with washer and dryer. Over the kitchen/bath/storage area is a Youth Loft dedicated to Jared Tracy, a member of the youth group, who died in a tragic accident.
This facility is available for rent by other churches, organizations or individuals in the area. For additional information, please contact the church office.
